IMPORTANT INFORMATION!!

Dear Optometrist,

Good standing certificate, is usually issued to a candidate from the present employer or organisation, stating that the conduct of the person is good, has no dues and no complaints regards the person has been received till date.

As far as Optometry Confederation of India goes, issuing a good standing certificate means that the candidate does not have any dues with the present employer, the council has not received any complaints with regards the professional conduct of the optometrist and there has been no public complaint against the professional conduct of the optometrist.

However, OCI has been observing that many optometrist who register request for the good standing certificate within a week or simultaneously. Logically, this seems very unethical as we don’t even have any record of the optometrist as far as conduct is concerned and they request for a good standing certificate. We at OCI would like to encourage all optometrist to be members atleast for a period of 3-6 months before applying for a good standing certificate.

Please cooperate with us in this endeavour.

* Please note that the Good Standing Certificate (GSC) is valid for 3 months from the date of issue.
